Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music, and R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine's given the name of Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church where she sang and was a pianist. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical training began on the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The very first song to feature her vocals was Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12 song. It has been remixed and a component of her repertoire. Also, she contributed to The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. She was appointed as the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the choral leader for this theatrical production. Sunshine gained national recognition for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to sing as part of Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
