The jazz performer Nancy Wilson a three-time Grammy Award winner was born on February 20 1937 in the city of Chillicothe, Ohio. Her parents were ironworker Olden Wilson and the former Lillian Ryan who worked as domestic helper. Nancy was the youngest of six children. Nancy was a child who listened to records from her father as well as his enthusiasm for music. Within a month she got an offer to sing in The Blue Morocco Night Club located on Boston Road in The Bronx the place where her agent heard her, and she was signed. The singer made her debut in 1960 by releasing a single after he obtained a deal with Capitol records. Guess Who? Her albums were a hit and Capitol issued 5 Nancy Wilson albums in two years. At first, she focused on rhythm and blues, under Adderley's influence, she began to move away from R&B and began to embrace jazz and torch songs.
