Nancy Wilson and Maisie Richardson

The jazz singer Nancy Wilson a three-time Grammy Award winner was born on February 20 1937 in Ohio, Chillicothe. She was the daughter of iron worker Olden Wilson, and former Lillian Ryan who worked as domestic helper. Nancy Wilson was first baby of six. Nancy was inspired by her father's taste in music and records played in the family home. At the age of 4, Nancy already knew she would be an artist. She was able to develop her talents when she sang in the choir of her church. While still in high-school the singer was regularly featured on Skyline Melodies. At nightclubs, she began singing at the age of 15. Nancy at the age of 17, completed high school and was enrolled in Ohio Central State College (now Central State University) for one year, before deciding to sing. In 1956 she released her first album with Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Big Band. The group toured with Rusty Bryant between 1956 and 1958. In the band, Nancy made her first recording in the studio of Dot Records. Cannonball Adderley encouraged her that she needed to relocate in New York to further her professional career. She moved there to The Big Town to begin her career in the year 1959. Her agent heard her speak at The Blue Morocco Night Club, Boston Road, The Bronx and she then signed her contract. Within a month after arriving to New York, she was in the city. He obtained a contract for with Capitol records in 1960, and she debuted the following year with the single. Guess Who You Saw Today. Capitol Records issued five Nancy Wilson albums over a time span of 2 years. With the help of Adderley's influence she shifted her focus from R&B towards jazz. Nancy Wilson's 1962 collaboration together with Cannonball Adderley propelled her to the top, and in 1963, she had her debut hit Tell Me the Truth. The performance brought her to the stage at New York Coconut Grove in 1963, America's most popular nightclub.

She then appeared in the Netflix Original Film The Kissing Booth Season 2 in the role of Chloe Winthrop.
